A.W. Hopkins’ first feature film, “Indian Road Trip,” won Best BC Director at the 2020 Whistler Film Festival. He also won an Honorable Mention for Best Screenplay in the Borsos Film Competition. He has directed two short films, “Shin Chi’s Canoe” and “FlyPaper.” And because of winning the DGC Greenlight Pitch competition, has a third, “Cloud Striker” in pre-production. In 2021 A.W. attended the Canadian Film Center Directors Lab. He also has a Master of Fine Arts Degree (MFA) in Creative Writing from the University of British Columbia where he focused on Writing for the Screen. A.W. is Interior Salish and a member of N’Quatqua First Nation. He lives in Vancouver BC.
