Arran Shearing is one half of the Writer/ Director duo The Bruther Brothers, a collaboration with British playwright Kit Redstone. As a cis man and trans man duo, The Bruther Brothers use scathing satire and loving humor to explore themes of patriarchy, masculinity, and systemic inequality. They have just finished principal photography of their first feature, ‘King Baby,’ a dark comedy that explores these themes from a crumbling castle in the South of France. Their sophomore feature, ‘STAY!’ is in pre-production with LA-based Legacy Pictures.
Arran’s first feature film, ‘Forgotten Man,’ premiered at Cinequest in 2017 and went on to screen at over twenty festivals worldwide, winning multiple awards, including Best Film at the Sydney Independent Film Festival, Best Performance at the New York Independent Film Festival, and the Leo Award for Cinematography, among others. ‘Forgotten Man’ is distributed by Flix Premiere. Arran previously directed award-winning and Vimeo Staff Pick music videos for independent and major labels alike, for artists including Mac Demarco, Felix Da Housecat, K-OS, and Peter Gregson. Arran is a member of both the Directors Guild of Canada and The International Cinematographers Guild. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Canadian Film Centre Director's Lab.
