An award-winning director and writer with experience in features, commercials and web series, Hannah Cheesman straddles comedy, drama, and genre with passion and conviction. A consummate collaborator and natural leader, Cheesman is an actor’s director who wins the respect of crews and producers alike. CSA-nominated and a TIFF Emerging Canadian Filmmaker, her work has shown at TIFF, Cannes, Palm Springs and as Vimeo Staff Pick. Her recent feature "The Boathouse" won BEST NARRATIVE FEATURE at San Diego International Film Festival GRAND PRIZE at Rhode Island. She just sold her half hour dark comedy, "Badger", to Apple TV+, and is developing her feature "Succor" with Local Time's Lulu Wang and Dani Melia ("The Farewell", "Expats" starring Nicole Kidman). Hannah holds a Canadian and EU passport, and a US visa.
