JULIA IVANOVA is a BC-based documentary Director, editor and cinematographer. In 2019, she was honoured with a Retrospective at Hot Docs Film Festival as a "significant Canadian filmmaker" — one of only three BC directors across 20 years. Her film “Family Portrait in Black and White,” produced with ITVS, premiered at SUNDANCE and won BEST CANADIAN FEATURE at Hot Docs. Her film “Limit is the Sky” won BEST CANADIAN FEATURE at DOXA. Ivanova's documentaries have screened at major international festivals, such as IDFA, Cleveland, Hamptons, DOC NYC and LA Film Festival. Her films have been covered by leading media worldwide, such as Variety. Five of Julia's ten TV hour and feature docs were made with CBC.
