After 20 years of acting, I started directing episodic television on a show called Wynonna Earp - a Syfy series in which I also starred. Impressed with my ability to go from a dramatic scene of a near-hanging to a comedic scene involving vagina curtains, Syfy hired me to direct their new series (which unfortunately lacked the curtains) but had the same need for a mix of drama, heart and humour. On set I always try to make cast and crew feel heard and appreciated. My goal is to inspire an environment in which everyone excited to come back the next day - there's no surer route to making what's on the screen the best it can be.
