Nathan Morlando is an award winning Toronto-based film and television director. Most recently he executive produced and directed the final season of the international award winning series CARDINAL (CTV/BBC/HULU) which earned 12 CSA nominations and 3 DGC Awards. His film MEAN DREAMS premiered at the Cannes Film Festival Director’s Fortnight. The New York Times critically acclaimed crime thriller was named one of Canada’s Top Ten Films of the year and received three DGC nominations including Best Director. Morlando’s debut feature as director/writer, the true crime drama CITIZEN GANGSTER (IFC Films, eOne), won TIFF’s Best Canadian First Feature Award, earned 5 CSA nominations, two DGC nominations including Best Feature, and was honored as one of Canada's Top Ten Films of the year. The film also won the Liege Crime Film Festival Special Jury Award — the Prix de la Coeur — given to the film in special honor of its humanist look at the subject of crime.
