Penelope Buitenhuis started as an experimental filmmaker in Paris and Berlin, and after the success of her short about the Berlin Wall, she made her first feature, which led her back to Canada. One of the first women to direct TV in Canada, she's learned a lot of tricks of efficiency and creativity over the last 25 years, and is quick to find solutions for inevitable obstacles. She works well with actors to achieve authenticity and interesting blocking. She rarely goes over time, and maintains a positive and respectful set.
