Ray Raghavan

Ray Raghavan is a graduate of the Vancouver Film School. Most recently, Telefilm Canada awarded Ray development funds for his sophomore feature PHOREN, a horror script based on his immigrant life experiences in Canada. His latest project ALIENATION, a short film, is on the festival circuit and has played at the academy qualifying CineQuest Festival, FilmQuest, Morbido, Trieste Sci-Fi and many more. His first short film MAYA GETTING BORN, won Best Student Film at the Vancouver South Asian Film Festival. Ray’s directorial debut feature film VIOLENTIA went on to play at various genre festivals and won Best Director at Berlin Sci-Fi Festival. It was then acquired by Gravitas Ventures for worldwide distribution in 2019. Ray was selected from across Canada to participate at the BITS Genre Lab 2022, the only one of it's kind in Canada for diverse filmmakers. He has also recently completed the DGC Episodic Directing Workshop. Ray is passionate about telling both feature and Episodic genre stories with diverse content. He enjoys spending time with two little boys and going on long hikes.
