Ray Raghavan
British Columbia
Ray Raghavan is a genre filmmaker driven by bold ideas and visceral emotion—stories that dare audiences to feel uncomfortable, seen, and alive.
Ray is currently developing HANGRY, a satirical body-horror feature about a woman whose hunger for success turns cannibalistic in a wellness-obsessed world. With shades of American Psycho and Talk to Me, the film weaponizes social pressure, identity, and influencer culture—showcasing Ray’s trademark blend of elevated horror and social commentary. The project is already garnering strong interest from notable producers in the genre space.
Ray’s slate also includes:
• FEARDOM — A psychological horror about corporate mind control through fear; the screenplay is in circulation with producers behind Terrifier 3 and Infinity Pool.
• THE GOD OF LOVE — A darkly comedic crime series about a physics-teacher vigilante executing Rube Goldberg-style assassinations.
His track record demonstrates both execution and originality:
Ray’s debut feature VIOLENTIA won Best Director at the Berlin Sci-Fi Festival and secured worldwide distribution through Gravitas Ventures. His short ALIENATION earned the Audience Award at Another Hole in the Head and screened at Cinequest, FilmQuest, Morbidó, Trieste Sci-Fi, and more.
Selected for the DGC LA Delegation in 2024, the BITS Genre Lab, and a graduate of the DGC Episodic Directing Workshop, Ray is committed to building ambitious, globally resonant genre films from Canada.
Whether exploring horror, satire, or psychological thrillers, Ray champions bold, inclusive stories with something sharp beneath the skin—cinema that hits the nerve and doesn’t let go. Ray collaborates often with the team behind horror hits like Longlegs, The Monkey and many more.
His mission is clear: deliver unforgettable, elevated genre films that disrupt, disturb, and dominate the cultural conversation.
