Troy A. Troy collaborates on projects with exceptional executive producers and creatives, such as Derrick Williams, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Orly Adelson, Bart Fisher, Terry Washington, Ray Chew, Shaun Robinson, Debbie Gibson, and Victoria Christopher Murray.

Troy was most recently nominated for a Directors Guild of Canada outstanding directorial achievement award for MTV's Adventures in Christmasing starring Kim Fields and Adrian Holmes. 

In 2023, Troy celebrates three premieres: Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story (Lifetime April 8), Notes of Autumn (Hallmark September 16), and Buying Back My Daughter (Lifetime October 7).

Pride: A Seven Deadly Sins Story, Troy's third installment in Lifetime's popular Original Seven Deadly Sins Saga, had 2.2 million viewers in its premiere week. Executive produced by Bishop T.D. Jakes and Derrick Williams, it stars Grammy-Award winner Stephanie D Mills along with co-stars Thomas "Nephew Tommy” Miles, Keeya King, Jaime M. Callica, Lucia Walters, and Donna Benedicto. The prior Seven Deadly Sins Lifetime Original Movies - Lust, Envy, Wrath (directed by Troy), and Greed (directed by Troy) - attracted close to 7 million total viewers in 2022.

Troy is deeply grateful to have the opportunity to direct an incredible cast in Hallmark’s charming and nuanced Notes of Autumn, a tale of inspiration, friendship, house swapping, and two parallel love stories. BFF's Ellie (Ashley Williams) and Leo (Luke Macfarlane) are at career crossroads — until they open their hearts and find their respective soul mates in Sam (Marcus Rosner) and Matt (Peter Porte). The movie’s blessed with a fantastic team including Bart Fisher, Senior Vice President of Development for Hallmark Media and Debbie Gibson, executive producer.

Ultra talented executive producers Meagan Good and Orly Adelson launched an important, heart wrenching project with Buying Back My Daughter, inspired by actual events of mothers trying to rescue their daughters from being trafficked. Troy directed the amazing cast including Meagan Good, Roger Cross, Ariana Madix, and Faith Wright to deliver electrifying performances of very difficult and powerful material. As part of Lifetime’s Ripped from the Headlines and Stop Violence Against Women campaigns, Troy is helping to address a serious social issue that needs our attention.

Troy was born in Jamaica and grew up in Toronto, watching movies of all genres in Toronto's iconic theaters, like the Uptown, University, and Coronet. As a Director, Troy is simultaneously a technician and authentic storyteller, who values diversity and the art of collaboration. He has established a strong body of work in thriller, drama, and romance genres, for Paramount+, Lifetime, Hallmark, and MTV Entertainment Studios. "I am not a genre snob", says Troy, "There are many great archetypal stories in all genres." After completing his Film degree at University of Waterloo, Troy attended Vancouver Film School and then joined the Directors Guild, working as an AD for over a decade and then breaking through as a Director.
