Tyson Caron
Manitoba
Tyson grew up in Kenora, a small, Northern Ontario town with a booming cottage industry that won the Stanley Cup in 1907. He built a lot of forts and was a master at scaring his older sister. The rubber snake was his go-to. Tyson got the film bug in 2002 when his short script, EUGENE, won the Corus Entertainment Young Film Maker’s Initiative. He worked on various film and television projects over the years – doing anything and everything, including picking up and driving Judd Hirsch one city block. Tyson wrote and directed the feature film, LOVESICK, staring Jacob Tierney, Jessica Paré, and Jay Baruchel. The film premiered at the Whistler Film Festival in 2016, where it sold out two screenings. LOVESICK premiered in The US at Cinequest where it won the audience award. The film can be seen on iTunes, Amazon Prime, or Roku. Tyson directed the 1-hr supernatural drama pilot WYNTER starring Tiio Horn, Lorne Cardinal, and Cara Gee. It premiered on APTN on Halloween (2018). Tyson was a producer on the Shorty award-winning podcast series, THE TRUTH SHARING PODCASTS, and on the ground-breaking podcast version of the TAKEN documentary series about missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. He was a co-executive producer and second unit Director on the CBC drama series BURDEN OF TRUTH (CBC, The CW, Netflix) starring Kristin Kreuk for four seasons.
