Wiebke von Carolsfeld

Montréal-based Wiebke von Carolsfeld is an award-winning writer and filmmaker, who has directed tv (Transplant etc) as well as four feature films, most recently Someone’s Daughter, starring Pascal Bussiéres and François Arnaud. Previously, she directed Marion Bridge (starring Molly Parker, introducing Elliot Page), STAY (a Canadian/Irish coproduction starring Taylor Schilling, Aidan Quinn and Barry Keoghan), and The Saver, starring Imajyn Cardinal, winner of the Best Actress Award at the AIFF. Her films have played at festivals around the world (TIFF, Rotterdam (competition), Karlovy Vary, Sydney, Pusan, Goteborg etc), winning many awards including Best First Canadian Feature, inclusion in Canada’s Top Ten, along with many nominations including for Best Adopted Screenplay from both the CSA and the WGC. Claremont, Wiebke’s first novel, was published both in Canada and in Germany and has been optioned for a limited tv series by Jeremy Podeswa.
