Yasmine Mathurin

Yasmine Mathurin is a Haitian-Canadian award-winning Writer-Director and podcast producer. Her debut feature documentary, ONE OF OURS, was the 2021 DGC Special Jury Prize winner for Canadian Features at the Hot Docs International Film Festival. In 2022 One Of Ours was nominated for 3 Canadian Screen Awards including Best Writing, Best Direction Documentary and Best Feature Documentary. It is now available to stream in Canada on CBC Gem and in the US through AMC+ Sundance TV, Amazon Prime and AppleTV+. She previously worked as an associate producer with CBC Original Podcast. Her podcasting work has been awarded with a Webby People’s Choice Award and a Canadian Digital Publishing Award. She is an alumni of numerous film and storytelling labs including the Hot Docs Documentary Lab, the UnionDocs Feature documentary lab, the Berlinale Doc Toolbox program, and the TIFF Netflix Talent Accelerator Fellowship. She most recently participated in the 2022 TIFF Writers Studio where she is currently writing her first feature fiction film with the support of the CHANEL Women Writers’ Network grant.
