Ali Liebert
British Columbia
Ali Liebert is a Vancouver-based multi-hyphenate queer artist who brings 20 years of experience to the film industry. A GLAAD Award and DGC Award nominated director with over 100 credits as an award-winning actor, Ali is recognized internationally for her contributions to the ascendancy of the gay narrative in the traditional rom-com and continues to express her love of storytelling on both sides of the lens.
Her recent directing credits include CHRISTMAS IN NOTTING HILL (Hallmark, 2023) shot on location in Dublin and London and THE HOLIDAY SITTER (Hallmark, 2022) starring Jonathan Bennett. The Holiday Sitter was included in the Top 15 Christmas Movies of 2022 in both Vanity Fair and Vogue and was nominated for a GLAAD Award (Outstanding Film, Streaming or TV) garnering wide media attention for its LGBTQIA+ representation as Hallmarks first queer led film.
Ali’s debut short film, THE QUIETING, a queer, genre-bending thriller, made its world premiere at Inside Out Toronto LGBTQ Film Festival (2020) and received an EDA Award nomination for "Best Female-Directed Short”. Her second short film, CALLS FROM A BRIDGE, shot on a virtual production stage, made its world premiere at Whistler Film Festival (2022).
Ali recently completed the CMF x DGC Director Observer Program (FAMILY LAW) and the DGC Episodic TV Director Workshop. She has multiple projects in development and looks forward to working in the one-hour episodic space.
