Andrea Martinez Crowther

Ontario

After developing my career in Mexico as director of both documentary and fiction, I recently stepped out of my comfort zone and moved to Toronto. I have four feature films under my belt. My first feature, "Insignificant Things", was selected in the Sundance Screenwriter's Lab as well as the IFP Director’s lab under the mentorship of Rodrigo García ("Nine Lives") and was Executive Produced by Guillermo del Toro. The film premiered in San Sebastian. My most recent film "Tare" stars renowned Mexican actor Tenoch Huerta ("Black Panther Wakanda Forever") and is set to be released in 2023. I have several projects on my slate including the Canada-Mexico co-production "Labranza", the romantic comedy, "Smitten", and the love story between two women with dementia, "Beulah and Willemina". I have directed factual television for Discovery Channel and NatGeo, am an alumna of WIDC as well as a member of WIFT.
