Cjay Boisclair is a filmmaker from Kamloops, BC, who is taking the film world by storm with her captivating storytelling and award-winning films. Her journey in the film industry began on the set of Power Rangers, where she discovered her love for the art and quickly transitioned from acting to production.
With her debut short script, Cjay started making a name for herself in the film community, receiving numerous nominations and awards at international film festivals. Her follow-up film, Stood Up, solidified her talent and won funding and mentorship from Women in the Director's Chair (WIDC). Stood Up was a critical success, debuting at the St. John's International Women's Film Festival and playing at over 100 film festivals globally, where it received over 75 awards and nominations.
Cjay's debut feature film, "Mary," was born from her own lived experiences and tells the powerful story of a young girl battling homelessness while facing the challenges of school, family, and growing up. This deeply personal script has touched the hearts of audiences around the world and has solidified Cjay's place as a rising star in the film industry.
In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Cjay is also a dedicated advocate for the film community. She founded the YKA Film Society, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing training and opportunity for filmmakers in the Interior of BC. Through this organization, she has created a platform for filmmakers to hone their skills, collaborate with like-minded individuals, and bring their stories to the world.
In recent years, Cjay has worked as a producer on a slate of made-for-TV movies in Kamloops and currently has several projects in various stages of development. Her hard work and dedication have earned her recognition from several prestigious organizations, including Women in the Director's Chair, Banff Spark, The Big Push’s Road to Success Cohort, and TELUS STORYHIVE, among others.
