Clara Altimas

Clara Altimas is a writer and director originally from Montreal, now based between Toronto and LA. She is in development on several television series’, working with a variety of producers and networks. Clara is currently serving as showrunner, writer, and executive producer on Office Movers, a comedy series for Crave, and was previously a writer, co-executive producer, and director on the half hour comedy, Strays (CBC), and a writer and co-producer on three seasons of the hit series Kim’s Convenience (CBC). Clara directed the digital series Off Kilter (CBC GEM) and has written and directed a number of short films that have received international festival recognition. Clara studied screenwriting with the UCLA Extension Program, completed a residency in the Writer’s Lab at the Canadian Film Centre, and recently took part in the Reykjavik Film Festival’s Talent Lab, developing her first feature. She attributes her love of story and character to her extensive training in acting; she studied Meisner technique with the late Jacqueline McClintock, scene study and script analysis with Larry Moss, and improvisation at UCB LA and Toronto’s Second City.
