Eric Tessier

Eric Tessier shot his first Super-8 film at the age of 13. After living a year in Jamaica learning English and playing music with local bands, he studied cinema at Cegep Ahuntsic and Concordia University in Montreal where he began his career directing commercials and documentaries for television. He wrote and directed short fiction films NEIGE AU SOEIL (Sunny Snow) and VIENS DEHORS! (Come Out!) which were shown in festivals around the world and won many awards. In 2003, he co-wrote and directed the horror feature EVIL WORDS which was a box office hit and in 2009, the psychological thriller 5150 ELM'S WAY. In 2012, Tessier took a new genre direction in making the hit family drama PEE-WEE 3D which is Quebec’s first produced stereoscopic feature film. He followed in 2018 with its sequel, JUNIOR MAJOR. Tessier wrote and directed in 2020 the adult drama YOU WILL REMEMBER ME. For television, Tessier directed in 2000 episodes of the hit series TWO BROTHERS and in 2004 - 2005 an episode of the thriller series ROOM 13, and a season of the comedy series 3 X NOTHING. From 2006 to 2008 he directed full seasons of English Canadian comedies RUMOURS and SOPHIE, and from 2012 to 2014 three seasons of the hit soap opera O’ for which he won the GÉMAUX AWARDS FOR BEST DIRECTOR three years in a row. In 2015, he directed the hit drama series FOR SARAH and from 2017 to 2019 RUNAWAY S1 & S2 which were both phenomenal successes in Quebec. Those series were adapted by French television and found great successes. In 2021, he directed an Incendo MOW and in 2022 he directed episodes of the CTV- NBC hit medical series TRANSPLANT and the comedy series PILLOW TALK. He also directed THE AMITYVILLE CURSE, a sequel to the famous franchise for Tubi. More to come.
