Marta Borowski is a Toronto based director with over 14 years of script supervising experience on shows such as HANNIBAL (NBC), ALPHAS (Syfy), SPECIAL CORRESPONDENTS with Ricky Gervais & Eric Bana (Netflix), and STAR TREK: DISCOVERY (CBS).
As a director, Marta's credits include REALLY ME (Family Channel), HOAX: THE KIDNAPPING OF SHERRI PAPINI (Lifetime), and PLANES, TRAINS and CHRISTMAS TREES (CityTV/Lifetime). Marta's short film, RESOLVE, screened at festivals in Canada, US and Europe and was nominated for several awards. RESOLVE, the digital series, which she created in partnership with iTHENTIC, was one of 20 projects selected for round two of IPF.
Immigrating to Canada at an early age with few resources and attending seven different schools has taught Marta to see life from perspectives that weren't her own and deepen her compassion for others. She gravitates toward underdog characters and stories of resilience, perseverance and mental health. Her empathy, vulnerability and respect for actors, inspires strong creative collaborations with her cast, and thereby strong performances in her work. Marta's passion for photography, music and psychology paves way for visually rich, nuanced narratives with heart.
