Sheona McDonald

Sheona is an award-winning filmmaker. She has produced, directed and written a number of documentaries including Dead Man’s Switch a crypto mystery, A short Essay on Men, Candice, Inside Her Sex, When Dreams Take Flight and Capturing a Short Life. Sheona directed the beautiful short film Into Light which has won awards internationally; the two-part doc series Haunted Gold Rush; season two of Emergency Room: Life and Death at VGH for Knowledge Network, and directed several episodes of Love It or List It Vancouver. She wrote a feature film script, Back By Midnight and she has also completed the first draft of her first fiction novel Inferno. Sheona was showrunner on Border Security: America’s Front Line S3 and has just finished directing, writing and showrunning a 4-part documentary series Transplant: Documentary Series for OmniFilm Entertainment. Sheona is familiar with the production process from pitch to delivery and one of her greatest strengths is working with people, both in front of and behind the camera. While Sheona has spent much of the last decade in factual entertainment, she is interested in returning to fiction and working as a director.
